The short version. IVFComputer is software that fertility clinics use to run their practice. The medical records inside it belong to the clinic and to its patients — not to us. We hold them so the clinic's software can work, we keep them on servers in India, and we do not sell anything to anybody.
If you are a patient and you want your records changed or removed, ask your clinic. They decide, and we do as they ask. If you cannot reach them, write to us and we will help — details at the bottom.

Two different relationships
This matters, because it decides who is responsible for what.
If you are a clinic
You are our customer. We hold the information you and your staff put into IVFComputer, and we act on your instructions. You decide what goes in, who at your clinic can see it, and when it is removed.
If you are a patient
Your relationship is with your clinic. They chose IVFComputer and they are responsible for your records. We are the company that runs the software underneath, and we handle your information only so that your clinic's software works and so we can show you your own records in the patient app.
What we hold
From the clinic's staff
- Name, work email, phone number and role
- A scrambled version of the password — never the password itself
- A record of what was done in the system and when, because medical software has to be able to show who did what
From patients, entered by the clinic
- Name, age, sex, phone number, email and address
- Medical information about fertility treatment: diagnoses, test results, scans, prescriptions, cycles, embryology records and outcomes
- Consent forms and identity documents the clinic is required by law to keep
- Messages between the patient and the clinic, including messages sent over WhatsApp
- Payments and invoices
Some of this is sensitive health information. We treat all of it as sensitive.
From the website
ivfcomputer.com does not set advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, which include the address your device connects from.
Why we hold it
| What for | Why it is allowed |
|---|---|
| Running the software the clinic pays for | Our contract with the clinic |
| Showing a patient her own records in the patient app | The clinic's instruction, with the patient's consent |
| Sending appointment and medicine reminders | The clinic's instruction, with the patient's consent |
| Keeping registers and returns the law requires of fertility clinics | The clinic's legal obligation |
| Keeping the service secure and working | Our legitimate interest in running a safe service |
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Neither we nor our suppliers use patients' medical records to train artificial intelligence models.
Where it is kept
On Google Cloud, in their Mumbai region, and on servers we run in the same region. Your clinic's records are stored in India.
Each clinic's records are kept separately from every other clinic's. One clinic cannot see another's.
One exception, and we would rather be exact than reassuring. Where a clinic switches on the features described below that use artificial intelligence, the specific text or report being worked on is sent to Anthropic, whose servers are outside India, and the answer comes back. It is not stored there, and it is not used to train anything. Everything else stays in India.
Who else touches it
Only companies that help us run the service, and only as much as they need:
| Who | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud | Runs the servers and stores the records | India (Mumbai) |
| Gupshup | Carries WhatsApp messages between the clinic and its patients | India |
| Anthropic | Only if the clinic switches these on: reading an uploaded lab report so the numbers do not have to be typed again, drafting a reply to a patient's message, and turning a visit record into plain language. A member of staff reads and approves every one before it is used or sent. | Outside India |
If we ever add another, we will list it here before it starts.
How long we keep it
Fertility clinics in India are required to keep treatment records for a number of years, so the clinic decides how long its records live, not us.
- While a clinic is our customer, we keep what they ask us to keep.
- If a clinic leaves, we give them a full copy of their records, and then delete our copies within 90 days unless they ask us to do it sooner.
- Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are fully gone within 35 days.
Your rights
Under India's data protection law you can ask to see the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and complain if you are unhappy with how it has been handled.
Patients should ask their clinic first. The clinic holds the relationship and can act immediately. If you cannot reach them, or you are not satisfied, write to us at privacy@ivfcomputer.com and we will help.
There is a separate page explaining exactly how to ask: how to delete your data.
One limit worth being honest about: if the law requires your clinic to keep a medical record for a set number of years, neither they nor we can delete it before then. We will tell you if that is the case.
Keeping it safe
- Everything travels encrypted, and is stored encrypted.
- Every person has their own login, and sees only what their role needs.
- What happens in the system is logged, so a clinic can see who looked at what.
- If records are ever exposed, we will tell the affected clinic without delay and help them tell their patients.
No system is perfectly safe, and we will not claim otherwise.
Children
IVFComputer is for adults receiving fertility treatment and for clinic staff. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If something changes
We will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we will tell the clinics directly rather than rely on you noticing.
